frequently asked questions
Do the bikes cause any damage to the course?
Not at all – our bikes are very gentle on the turf. Scratch Bikes feature 4″ wide fat tires, and they are lighter than carts. They handle all terrain and most conditions with ease. We do recommend following the same rules as carts, out of respect to the course.
Are the bikes stable?
Very! After only a few minutes to get comfortable riding, any stability concerns disappear. The dual kick stand keeps the bike upright and stable. Whenever possible, park the bike on flat terrain or a slight incline, and for the best experience, keep your golf bag light – as if you were walking.
Will the battery last for the entire round?
Our batteries last multiple rounds! You have the option to pedal with three levels of assist, or go full throttle. The speed is governed to match golf carts, and the battery powers a high-powered headlight and tail light to extend your twilight rounds.
Do courses allow bikes?
So far we’ve only had great feedback from riders and courses. Our bikes reduce repetitive wear from carts, extend cart fleets, and allow golfers to experience the course in an entirely new way. If you’d like to see Scratch Bikes at your favourite course, send us a message with some info – we’d love to make it happen!
How fast do the bikes go?
Scratch Bikes are speed-governed to match the speed of a golf cart. You have the option to pedal with three levels of assist, or can use the thumb throttle to cruise without pedaling.
Are the bikes safe?
Absolutely. If you’re comfortable riding a bike, you’ll be comfortable on a Scratch Bike before you’re finished the first hole. Take it slow to start, familiarize yourself with the brakes and throttle, getting on and off via the low-step thru frame, and engaging the kick stand. From there, go have the most fun round you’ve played in a long time!
